I am not a fan of pop music, never was, however my budding teenager is.

I actually let her listen to 'her station' today and I was shocked at the lude lyrics. Things like "gonna disrobe you then probe you" or something like that, "alein sex" etc, "After the show, if you want to ___ me I won't say no" and the likes of that.

I know lude lyrics aren't new, but OMG so blatant these days. Grrr! :barnie

:th Somehow it seems even worse all laid out in black and white. My kid is not allowed to listen to that garbage...it'll rot their tiny little brains. :sick

How do you stop them? It is everywhere. She broke her radio in her room years ago, and I don't let her listen to it on my car radio, because I hate it...today was just one of those days...yet she knows all the words. :/

Thank goodness we talk about things like this openly etc. And I'm not too worried about her, it is the other girls out there w/o parents who can explain why lyrics like these are awful and degrading to females.

The local TV station had been running a promo for a country music station. The lyrics they were using in the background was "I'm a little drunk and I need you now" during prime-time. :th

Luckily, the eldest has tame tastes.

OMG! I hate that song! :sick

Ok Katie Perry singing about daisy dukes, bikini on top... the sun "so hot it will melt your popsicle...." :/

When I first read the title, I thought you meant "Pop Muzic"

I had go to check the lyrics, and found out I'm getting soooooo old....

Do I need to go print all the lewd lyrics from the stuff they played when I was in high school?

Same stuff, different clothes is all :gig

*rolls eyes* geez, you parents are behind the times!! Ask any parent which answer they got, they got this (which I had to inform my mother):

Its about the BEAT, not the lyrics! Except the chains & whips song, which the beat catches you pre-lyrics.

(Hehe,I'm just playing the young thing another 2 months until I'm officially too old to! ;)

"I make the pussy purr with
The stroke of my hand
They know they gettin' it from me
They know just where to go
When they need their lovin man
They know I do it for free

They give me cat scratch fever
Cat scratch fever"

Good ole' Uncle Ted :D
I am sure he was just singing about kittens....right?

:gig
