OMG, yeah, now that I think about it...pop music has always been bad.

Maybe I'm just feeling ranty...I usually don't get a burr in my blanket so easily.

So I don't need to drive my point home by posting the lyrics to "Big Balls" by AC/DC?

Hubby and I have been cracking up remembering the old songs we listened to. It's a wonder our parents didn't smash our radios :D

My parents did not allow me to listen to it, but I did anyway, and knew all the words by heart. I didn't even understand a lot of them at the time!

I will admit I do not like to see music videos however because of the behavior of many of the young women seems rather trashy and almost soft-porn at times, Seems a bit over the top but I don't try to stop my teenage boys from seeing it. They will manage to find that stuff, and if I use it as an opportunity to express my feelings about it at least that much is accomplished.

Here it is 1:30 in the AM local time. The rest of the family is out of town, and I'm sitting here soldering a project together with John Denver cranked up on my old school stereo (playing at the moment is Fly Away recorded with Olivia Newton-John from the 1975/76 John Denver Christmas Special).

Yeah, I'm old.

I stopped listening to music years ago. While I often enjoy the music itself, I do not like the lyrics. If I could find a Christian radio station that I enjoy, I'd listen to that. So, normally, I listen to the news or nothing.

A friend and I were listening to the "Hair" album in her garage when her mother stormed out and ripped the album off the record player and broke it over her knee. We were very young, around 10 or so, and had no idea what the lyrics were actually about. Still cracks me up when I remember this.

ETA: Remember Cheech and Chong?

As a kid, most of those lyrics went right over my head. They still do sometimes

Look up K-LOVE. If there is not a station in your area, you can listen to it on the internet. Love love love that station!!!!!!

I do listen to christian music 90% of the time. And that means the family has to listen to it too. My dd likes the hip hop/dance music and hubby and ds like alternative rock. The lyrics are horrible for the most part, but we discuss things, and I don't for the most part have a problem with them listening to it. I was a kid too, and listened to Ozzy, Judas Priest, Ronny James Deo, among others. I think I turned out ok, and I never did turn into a devil wroshipper like my parents feared. :p
