I think I overdid it. I've been fighting off something and two days working hard kicked my rear. I've been sick since yesterday. Ds and youngest DD both have ear infections and middle DD just feels rough. So they're whiney, I'm tired and grumpy, and none of us feels good at all. The thing that really stinks is that it is supposed to be in the 70's and sunny today, but it's too windy for sickies to be out in it. I've still got some stuff to finish, but mostly little stuff that can wait. I think I'm just going to crawl back in bed for a little while...
Ohh! Feel better soon to everyone! Did you try any of that onion/honey mixture?? It seemed to help me when I was sick (still got sick, but I also ran out of it!)
Warm healing wishes to you and your family!!
I must have missed the onion/honey mix! I drank some hot tea with the last of my honey. The horses are here. J showed up with them this evening. Didn't bring any hay though and I'm almost out. I guess I'll see if I can fit two bales in the trunk. I was glad to get Shorty back. I was missing horse manure for compost! Anyway the friend I took to the doctor the other day brought me a dozen fertile brown eggs. They are pure but he didn't know what breed they were from. His sister has an incubator and sells the chicks. Time to see how my homemade incubator is gonna do! So far it has held temp on test runs......
Here ya go! http://www.sufficientself.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=10539
You might also look in the Natural Remedies section and check for the Fire Cider. It takes longer to "cure" but I am going to try to make it too. I figure you can't have too many remedies
Thanks for the link. I had missed that one! I definitely plan on doing the fire cider! I feel a lot better today. I did my own version of the onion honey mix today. Only I added a little garlic and cayenne pepper and cider vinegar and made it into a drink with water. It was different but it did the trick. I'm feeling better and not all congested and coughing. My throat even feels better. Anyway today I spent the day in town mostly. Went grocery shopping and got feed. $100 exactly and I'm hoping that I got enough feed and I know I need more groceries. I now have 2 horses added to the mix. He was supposed to have brought a round bale but he didn't. So I managed to fit 2 squares in the trunk of my poor car and filled the back seat with feed, children, and groceries. A little after I got home the man who brought me the eggs called. His bil had 25 baby pharaoh quail that he needed to get rid of to make room in his brooder for new chicks. He said come get them tonight and I could have them for free! I wasn't ready and didn't have a brooder set up so now I have 3 day old chicks running circles on the bottom rack of the incubator! Funny thing is the kids had been begging for chicks at the feed store, but almost $3 each there was no way I could afford it.
