I know a guy who used to be a cable phone rep. He canceled his cable for tv but kept it for internet. Between HULU, youtube and NETFLIX he has his favorite shows taken care of. For football he just got a newer tv that can get over the air digital. I think he said he was saving over $60/month doing this.
That's what we did. We have no TV at all because out here if you don't have a satellite you don't have TV. But we've got what few TV shows we did watch programmed into the computer on hulu and we do have netflix so the kids can watch the occasional movie and that's it. BIG savings for us.

One of the best ways to cut expenses on groceries is to not only eliminate waste but plan for and buy for dealing with leftovers. Like this weekend I made a big ham. This week we'll have a quiche, some egg fu yung, ham and egg sanwiches and beans and ham.
I make a double batch of meatloaf and then slice the second meatloaf into thin slices. I freeze them and then broil the slices on a sandwich round for a quick sandwich for anyone who wants it. This family LOVES meatloaf sandwiches made that way. Another way to use up leftover meatloaf (and you can even stretch that meatloaf by using red beans mashed up so no ones they're in there) is to chunk it up and throw it in spaghetti sauce or make swedish meatballs out of it.
I can a lot so we bought extra turkeys at Thanksgiving and I canned the turkey. Today I'm making turkey pot pie made with my canned turkey and using about a fourth of the meat I'd have used if I'd had to cook a chicken to do this.
Yesterday we had minestrone. A great vegetarian meal that's very low cost.
Tomorrow-leftovers!!!!

Lehman's in Kidron Ohio has all the ingredients both in kit form and individually. check them out on the web. Don't know if it would be frugal to pay the shipping but worth checking. I was able to shop in person.

Drugstores also usually have these ingredients. Amazingly the only place here that I have found the Fels Naptha soap is CVS, but I did not find the washing soda there.

We could pay off my car with a lump sum from savings cancel comprehensive insurance on it and switch to a high-deductible insurance plan. My car is 11 years old, so no sense in having a low-deductible insurance.

When football season is over we *could* switch to a lower cable package. We have HD. Last year he was going to cancel cable after football season - but then we would lose internet too. Because of my mental health issues, I don't think I could live without internet. I attempted suicide 2 weeks ago and a FB friend saw me post a goodbye, opened up a chat with me and talked me down.

I sold off most of my stuff this year. I can't think of anything of value left except musical instruments I don't think I can part with. :/ The stuff I didn't want to mess around with selling I donated to Goodwill and got tax credit slips. I should look around some more. I probably could find *something* I could sell!

Another way to think of it is with the health insurance cost, I know how much money we need to save or earn. I'm going to work on the earning part with trying to sell some artwork and get some commissioned portraits. I have entered 2 exhibitions with cash prizes and the artwork put up for sale. I have another one due in a week.
Gosh. Between that and the weird pregnancy confusion thread, I really think an endocrinologist could possibly provide some relief for you. See if you can budget for that, your health and well being are a priority over anything else.
Nah, it's just a little pest called Borderline Personality Disorder. I've had everything (and I do mean EVERYTHING) physical checked over multiple times. I have an assortment of mental illnesses

*giggles* Brain cooties!!!

I ride that undefined border between autism and schizophrenia. It's fun when I'm not actually having a meltdown. Although I'm still pointing and giggling at me at that point. :hu

Do you ever feel like there should be trading cards for all the diagnoses? Then you CAN be one card short of a full deck?

I can't get all three in the same store, either, but I get them all in grocery stores here. WZ posted about washing soda being the same thing as pool pH balancer...I can't remember if it was pH up or pH down....
