I'm working on a doozy of a UTI, and the clinic isn't open today or tomorrow (monday), any good remedies besides the cranberry juice and yogurt? This is really annoying!

Just a ditto for the no sugar. A lot of people drink cranberry juice that has a lot of sugar in it.

sorry you're not feeling well. :(

Try cranberry capsules from the health food store. They have the stuff in cranberry juice that keeps the bacteria from clinging to the walls of the urinary tract (which is not present in most other juices), but without all the sugar of juice/"juice cocktail." Both DD and I have effectively ended UTIs this way without additional treatment. Continue drinking lots of water. Good luck.

ETA:
* Adherence of bacteria to the walls of the urinary tract is an important prerequisite for the colonization of E. coli. Bacteria adhere to the cells of the urinary tract using hair-like fimbriae (or pili) that protrude from the surfaces of the bacteria. These fimbriae attach to specific monosaccharide or oligosaccharide receptors on urothelial cells. The fimbriae are designated either Type I (mannose sensitive) or Type P (mannose resistant).
* By adhering to urinary tract cells, E. coli can withstand normal body-cleaning mechanisms and overcome nutrient deprivation, leading to infection and toxicity.
* The cranberry factor (juice or supplements) contains a potent factor that affects and disables the cell structure of E. coli, thus inhibiting the ability of bacteria to adhere to the wall of the urinary tract.
* The cranberry factor is composed of certain condensed tannins (or proanthocyanidins) which collectively prevent E. coli from colonizing in the urinary tract.

I always keep a few quarts of the PURE cranberry juice, unsweetened, (and undrinkable!) in my cellar for just such occasions. I've knocked them out with it in the past, but not once it is painful to urinate, only when the bladder is achy and the urine is cloudy. I am prone to them, and going totally sugar and HGI-free....including grains, potatoes, etc for a couple of days at least....is critical. Even 100% juices are too high in naturally-occurring sugar, except the cranberry, which is healing.

I will dilute the pure cranberry about 4:1 with water and use a bit of stevia to make it tolerable and will shoot for at least a quart a day of pure juice, which is about 5 quarts of the mixture. I will continue this regimen for a few days after my symptoms disappear, which usually takes about a week, total, so I go through 5-7 quarts of the foul stuff. But it works, and keeps me off antibiotics for another round.

I haven't had a UTI in years, but I have had good results both with unsweetened, diluted cranberry juice, and a tincture of uva-ursi - I keep some of each on hand "just in case".

Uva Ursi Clinical research proves traditional use as an antiseptic with soothing and strengthening properties. Use as a tea made from 2 tsp of herb per cup of hot water; or as a tincture (1 to 2 teaspoons in warm water).

There is an over the counter pill that will help some, called UriStat. Most pharmacies carry it around here. There is also a pill for the pain, which does help, can't remember the name off the top of my head.

Drink lots of water to help flush out the bacteria.

Wear a skirt or dress with cotton panties. You don't want to wear jeans or tight slacks because it keeps 'that area' warm, which just invites more growth of the UTI bug.

I had a Dr tell me that you have to raise the PH of your system. ACV in water works, cranberry juice or concentrate, vitamin C and plenty of water.

Good luck
