Remind me why I'm doing this?!? I am trying to clear tree roots around the stump, so I can saw them… dislodged some stuff under there when I pulled out some tins… HELLO! o_O

Yep… another skull! :th

That was not a good start to the day's work. First one I'm 90% sure is goat and the second definitely horse :(

I really hate tree roots! I had to clear and cut some big ones today and that was very time consuming and a giant PITA, but I got them out and I'm really making progress now. I'll take pics soon… Taking a break now. I'm exhausted and starting to feel a bit overwhelmed. I think later when I feel better I'll start bagging up some of the bottles and jars I pulled out and take them to the bottle bank for recycling. We may get rain tomorrow and the next few days, so I'm trying to get as much as possible done.

Whew.... you are definitely working your behind off. Take a break - you earned it!

My question is - did the critters die in that shed and were just left there? Ugh!

I decided to call it a day. I've done a lot this last few days. I need a break now... I'll see how the weather is the next few days and work when I can, but for now, I'm going to "waste" this lovely weather and stay inside, relaxing. I'll go take some pics of the progress in a bit... I think I'm down to or close to floor level about 1/2 way through the shed now and I've made some dents in the remaining half, so I'm winning.

I wish I knew… I haven't spoken to my landlord yet and I'm hoping he'll have answers for me. There is a chance that little building may have been a house for someone at some point. As tiny as it is, years ago, many people here lived in tiny dwellings like that. The location of the building, position of the doorway, etc… I need to do some research and see if I can find anything.

The area I'm cleaning now and why I'm hating the tree so much… Look at the roots and the junk under there...

Yes, please… That tree is killing me. I can't safely use a chain saw on those roots, as they grew around a bed frame, you can see part of it sticking up. I managed to break it and bend it up and out of my way. I'm going to TRY and break it at the bend. From there it's part of the tree and it's going to have to stay. There is also wire, broken glass, tins, the odd bone, bed springs...

I'm so tired tonight, I can't think straight. I think I'm going to take tomorrow off and relax and do a little house work instead. I got too far to throw in the towel on that shed now, but I must admit the thought crossed my mind today.
