I'm half "There's a ghost here, that's cool!" and half "It's in my BACKYARD!"

Paranormal things don't generally bother me, but this is In. My. Backyard. Soon to be my chicken coop. I know I'm going to go there every day and check if everything is in place and at it should be and as I left it… And feel a bit stupid for doing so.
Never apologize for being thorough and noticing details..

I was thinking now "I hope it likes chickens" Who's the head case? lol

You guys are right, I should probably let it know what's going on… I'm just a bit hesitant to encourage it, by acknowledging it's presence. A few years ago I worked in a shop that was haunted by a man dressed in black. I never saw his face, but I saw him twice and heard him walk around the shop many times. I acknowledged him and he started acting up for me, trying to get my attention. The last thing I need is it deciding to follow me to my house!

I bumped into a very nice local man in the supermarket now and chatted with him about the shed, my progress and the ghost. I asked if he knows of anyone with a chainsaw I can borrow or hire for an hour or two and he said he'll send round another nice man I met in the pub a few times. That man apparently knows quite a bit of local history and may be able to tell me some about this property…

I hope he can shed some light on your shed situation!

I'm with Bay. Tell the spirit you mean no harm and WANT NONE. They can stay out there but do NOT harm or harrass your chickens or anyone on the place. Then proceed with your work.

Some "update" pics… I'm finally done with the area behind the tree. Working towards the door now, where I left my bucket. There is a rather huge stone there, with the inevitable tree roots, which I'm probably going to need some help with.

I've gone down more than 2 feet in most of the shed now. When I'm in there working, the walls are way higher than my head :) I'm probably going to clear the door and outside there, lower the ground level, so I can get the roots out and make space to open the door outwards, etc. Level the floor inside and take the last few inches of rubbish and dirt out, clear the tree as best I can so we can safely chainsaw trim it and then see about putting down a proper floor and the rest…

WOW, Sumi!!!! You weren't kidding about that tree...it's huge!!! That's one ambitious project but I can tell you are having some fun with it. Wish I could help you on it...work is much more fun when its shared.

I can't wait to see this finished and I sure hope your landlord knows what a valuable tenant he's got on his hands.

That tree stump and its roots are very artistically beautiful in shape...it would be neat if you could use it as a focal point in a garden or turn it into a piece of furniture of some kind.

I found a vintage poison bottle in there this afternoon. I'm not going to keep these old bottles though… Most are not identifiable and the ones I could identify are not worth the effort to try and sell them. It is fun discovering them though!
