Restoring/rescuing a 100+ year old shed. Am I nuts?

Could those tree roots be part of the problem with the drainage issues you've been having?

The shed is quite far from the house, right at the back of the property, so the roots are not a problem apart from getting in my way! lol We got a plumber to break up the concrete over the pipes that keep getting blocked up and apparently someone messed up when they replaced a pipe there some time ago. That is why we keep having issues. The whole thing is going to get replaced soon-soon.

My landlord came round again today to help a friend rebuild the wall the knocked down to get to the drain pipe. He couldn't resist showing off of "excavation project" (shed). He's going to arrange with a guy with a digger to come knock the stump loose and lift it out of the shed for me, hopefully over the weekend.

My partner in crime did an amazing job digging out the outside of the shed and around it, so we can finally WALK INTO THE SHED now!! Up until now I've been climbing through the window.

Ooooh, I forgot. I asked my landlord about the shed's history, he said it got abandoned before they bought this property and was full of junk and bones and ghosts as I found it. I asked him how long they've had this place and he said "That's an unfair question!" They've had this house for 35 years, so the shed's been left to it's own devices for quite some time! (Which explains a whole lot…) He is delighted that I've taken it on and with the progress out there

Hm, you said you didn't mention ghosts to him, and yet he mentioned them too??

No, I didn't mention the ghosts! lol I may at some point…

WOW! That looks amazing! And the tree looks bigger than ever! I'm so impressed sumi! You deserve a few chickens now!

That tree is too big. That's why I want it out, it's taking up way too much room in there.

Talking of which, we finally measured the shed today… It's 4.40m x 3.12m. Google says in feet that is 14.43 x 10.23 It's a good size.

I can't wait to have it all done, roof on, door and window fitted, painted etc.

Tell me about it It seems no-one wants to cut it for me, even just to get it lower. The bottom half is too dangerous to cut into, with all the junk, so I said I'll settle for having the top removed at least. No go so far… When that is finally done I can work on the roof. I'm getting frustrated by the lack of progress now.
