I think reusablecanninglids.com is direct from Steig. Anyway, I orderd 24 dozen. That'll put an upper limit on my canning habit for a few years.

These lids are re-usable, are they not? Once a jar is opened, the lid can be washed and put on another jar. Given that, I personally can't imagine ever needing 24 dozen of these lids. I have a small family, so don't think it likely that I would ever have 24 dozen jars of food on my shelves at one time. I do plan to get some of these though, just not quite so many.

You're right, 24 doz is a lot. There is a price break when you buy a case, about 0.62 $ each and the shipping was free.

At last count a few weeks ago, I had 14 doz jars put up. That's in the spring, when most of the greenbeans and corn are mostly gone. I can imagine putting up 20 or 24 dozen jars next summer.

EDIT: There's a 3-dozen pack for 28 $ + shipping.

They have arrived! The box is smaller than i imagined... but the inner boxes are a lot bigger than the usual dome lids.
