Electric car would need to be old for me to afford it. 😁. For now, old car and old truck works. Only about 10k miles a yr between them.

when i sold my old car a few years ago i was only putting about 1400 miles on it a year and the cost of insurance was so rediculous that it just made no sense for me to keep it - plus i had to store it outside the mice were continually making a mess of it and it would have needed several thousand in repairs and a new coat of paint to get it back up to snuff and then it would still have been stored outside...

I think the problem with the Electric cars is going to be the batteries. Old car = old batteries. Unless they do some major improvements on the batteries, we are looking at an environmental disaster.
They now charge you at the battery store to take used A, AA, etc. batteries - that used to be a free deal to drop them off for recycling.

i've not seen any prices for battery recycling here yet, but perhaps that will be coming.

as far as electric car batteries i know they're working on newer and better battery technology all the time and also prices will keep improving as the factories get bigger. the other aspect of it all is that the batteries will get recycled and reused when appropriate so i'm not that pessimistic. already battery prices have fallen by quite a bit and we're still on the early part of all of this.

I'm back. So we didn't get around to carving pumpkins this Halloween. so we had 4 pumpkins that needed used up, I decided to make pumpkin puree. But we don't have storage space to freeze it or can, so this year I decided to dehydrate the puree.
