A friend of mine lived in France some years ago, and brought me a couple of those string shopping bags that the French housewives use. I keep one in my purse for when I'm shopping and have forgotten my cloth bags; and one in the kitchen for spinning salad greens. Works like a charm ... but I do have to take it outside to spin it around 
. I spin just enough for a meal or two; any that aren't used immediately get wrapped in a kitchen towel and put in the 'fridge.
