Miss Ellie girl was a needy little brat of a lap goat last night but I am soooo happy she is feeling better after her fight with pneumonia

Thanks Bay! It would have absolutely crushed me if I lost her and it was so close to the 1 year anniversary of the start to our hell last year that she brought so much happiness after.
@frustratedearthmother you may be correct on that assumption.... but after how sick she was, she deserves it. Plus, how does one say "NO" to a persistent baby goat??? They just take what they want anyways!

We had a rough go of things this end of summer and into the brutal cold of the winter. We've had a lot of loss.
Lost two of the five icelandic chickens to.... not really sure. They were the smaller of the group by a long shot and they were found dead. The rest were fine but also about a pound bigger. So then we were down to 10 chickens and 2 ducks. Then Cece, our big ole goat who got deathly ill shortly after Ellie with pneumonia and parasite blooms Labor day weekend that she then relapsed twice after and we had to consider putting her down after week two of her being fully down. She finally started turning a corner and improving and was skin and bones. Well, October 27th, she gave us quads that we didn't know she was even pregnant with ONE. We hadn't exposed her to a buck but goodness, she managed just fine. Sadly, they were probably early and we lost two right away and the two bucklings made it to 9 weeks old when they just failed. Come to find out, it was more than likely the Valbazen we had used all summer on the mom since she wasn't supposed to be pregnant. They looked normal but there was always something lacking mentally and they struggled to figure life out. Right before we lost both babies, our buck Kitkat bloated and we lost him before he bred the ladies. THEN, yes within the same week, our rooster (Icelandic) put his neck through the coop door and strangled himself. We lost 4 of the 5 male animals on the property within a week. Our nearly 14 year old cat is the only one left besides my husband
So, it's been an interesting stretch of time. And for the record, Ellie did NOT like the babies and was very upset the entire time they were with us... she may have been a tad bit spoiled having been the ONLY baby for so long...
We brought home this fun little critter though! Fred the celestial goldfish!

One of my Christmas portraits that I did over my break. I have a couple pieces to do yet. Hopefully this week.
I am through five books since June and working on number 6 but also have multiple short stories I have done and about 13 more stories started or outlined. Submitting to agents and publishers is proving to be exhausting and trying but every "No," brings me closer to a "Yes" and I will push until I find that "Yes".
