Some of the hand grinders say they come with a sausage stuffing tube' or attachment, are those any good?

Seems you grind straight into the casing perhaps? Not sure how well that would work if you want to mix different meats and spices etc..
I grind it, then I will mix the spice kit into the meat, then I just put it back through the grinder with the stuffing tubes (no knife blade) and grind into the casings. Easy Peezy..

Well that might work for me too! I'll try that first before buying a separate stuffer thingie.. :P

I never liked stuffing right from the grinder into the casing. It's hard to control the flow, with the stuffer you can just keep a steady pressure on the handle with having to crank the handle.

If you are looking for the less expensive way to do it, and who isn't, the grinder works just fine for stuffing sausage ect. I am not saying that eventually I may or may not buy a stuffer press. But I am trying to do thing as easy as possible and as inexpensive as possible. But before I would buy a stuffer I would invest in a meat mixer, it would make mixing 170 lbs of venison so much easier on my arms lol. But to each his own. Good luck on what you decide.

If you aren't doing a lot (just a few pounds) a Kitchen Aid mixer with attachements works pretty good. We use a Kitchen Aid with attachments.

If you're going to do more than just a little go for the commercial grade. Our neighbor makes whole hog sausage a couple of times a year and does a couple of hogs at a time, commercial grade grinder from Cabela's.

I just wanna have a go at it for now, and who knows, if it takes off I might be making sausages for the whole town! :gig

I just want to experiment a little at first. Sadly I don't have a kitchen aid mixer :th

I'm keeping my eyes open around town, I got a fantastic meat slicer at an auction (old folks moving into a home) I might find one that way - but there aren't any auctions around in winter, most of them are in spring and summer time around here - cause everyone stands around in the street for hours talking junk and pretending to be there for the auction.
