 and :clap to the song. :hide from thinking about what happened. Ouch.
Honey works for burns, but it would glue your shirt to them. You'd be better off sending everybody away and going topless for a day. Don't tell the family your plans or your hubby will miss work that day. ;)

walks away singing under my breath

Yes, I learned my lesson about dogs in the kitchen! Dee Dee is such a pig, she has to sniff around and make sure nothing was "missed" on the floor. That is what I believe she was doing when I burned myself. At our old house dogs were not allowed in the kitchen, but this kitchen here is a narrow passageway, so it is hard to not allow them in there, and it is open to the Great room so it is hard to distinguish when they are "over the line" But I have to put them outside or something for pouring hot milk (or soap for that matter).

Last night it was soooooooooooooooo hot here, I felt bad watching the news about the hurricane, but it was hard to not focus on my burn and the heat and my ear was ringing real bad so I was grouchy. This morning it feels much better. The red areas are much smaller and starting to scab. As long as I wear something loose I'm fine. Too bad I can't do something about my ear ringing.

Computer Nerd is at something called Creamfields, a giant concert in GB. He managed to send a note that there is 2-3 feet of mud and it is "kinda miserable." I hope all of his new things are not totally muddy. I'm sure they must be though. What a great way to start a trip.....but he found his friends and says he is still having fun. I was glad he managed to send the message.

Yesterday the foster dog who is here, Zoe, started herding the chickens for me as I was putting them away. She had herded the goats (naturally, no training) for us, so I started trying to direct her. First she herded most of them in for me, fantastic, but one was left behind, my little sussex, Gertrude, she kept slipping by us. Zoe understood TOO well and went after the chicken after I pointed at it and stupidly said, "Get it!". She chased it down and caught it in her MOUTH and luckily did not hurt it. She obviously needs to learn the "drop it" command but this little dog would be awesome as a farm dog! Gertrude did not have a mark on her, although the poor little Sussex was terrified. We put Zoe indoors and it will be interesting to see what happens today when she interacts with them. I'm a little afraid she found herding the chickens too fun, catching in the mouth was too easy. I realize I should have taught her a stop command FIRST and a drop it command FIRST before letting her herd. :he But she just did it on her own. I do know how to teach those things but they are more of a slow process, if anyone knows the FAST way to teach that to a dog let me know. OFG? The only word she currently understand is "no!" and I used that yesterday to stop her. I normally teach dogs the word "out" and that means to drop what they have, or open their mouth, but this one hasn't been here long enough to master that. I do it with a toy they like. Does anyone know a quicker way? This dog will be going where there are horses (most likely) but no poultry. I wish I were in the market to keep her, I think a tiny herding ridgeback would have fit in really well here, she only weighs about 45 pounds.

I'm watching the news from New York and it doesn't look pretty.........stay safe everyone!
