Well to be fair, have you seen how big we grow slugs up here? A two inch long one is a baby, and I've seen them as big as four inches long. A duck would choke!

:gig ya got that right! Did you know they have 'Slug races' in the Elma/McCleary area? I've never been, but used to work with a lady from there.
I think your bunny's cute. I like him just because he's different. As for the roosters, they are both nice looking in their own kinda way. It would be a tough choice to make...I would say to keep the useful one (Scratch), but it might be tough to sell a rooster that can't mate. That is a cool looking dog, I just don't think DH is quite ready for me to add any more to our mix...especially after I mentioned a milk goat...just to see his reaction. ;)
I'm glad I was wrong about the weather (must have been last week :/ ), I have the week off and need to get some work done around here now that the kids are back in school and DH is back to work (his boss closed shop for a week). That's going to hurt us, but he says he'll be going back to full time here in the next few weeks so that is a big plus. :ya

Good luck on your sales & I hope you do well. :fl

as pretty as uhoh is i think given scratch is proven hes your better choice for a keeper if your looking to have good fertility, not to mention if he has the better personality...for me a backyard flock should also have good personalities, so hed be the choice.

We lived in TN for awhile, and had some doozy slugs there. E found out real fast that you don't walk out on the front porch barefoot  he squished a big fattie right between his toes!

I hate plucking the slugs off of the veggies, it feels like the slime won't wash OFF, you have to SCRUB and scrub. I tried feeding them to chickens and they actually try to wipe off their bills, they don't like that slimy feeling either.

OK so I looked it up. Good old GOOGLE!!

Apparently the approved method for removing slug slime is to....

FIRST rub your hands together vigorously to ball up the slime - much like removing rubber cement.

DO NOT add water! Slug slime actually absorbs water making the slime slimy-er!

Step two is to wash your hands with Boraxo brand soap. Which apparently has good old borax and a real soap (not detergent) in it. (Hmmm sounds like we could work this out with stuff WE all have around the house ... perhaps our homemade laundry soap??) The Boraxo actually breaks down and removes the slime.

Ta Da!

I love Boraxo! It's the only thing I have found that removes buck smell. Although I have heard goat milk soap will too, but I don't have any of that.
