Well I'm diggin' this morning, but it is the snow! We have a foot. Our road is blocked and we are snowed in. Still have power thank goodness. Our road becomes impassible after a certain amount of snow and we don't have any city services here. Tonight they are predicting record cold and a big freeze so I doubt things will change, it will just get more slippery. I dug paths to everything this morning, to each animal stall and door, to the food and water sources and took hot water out to everyone. My hat is off to those of you who deal with this kind of snow all winter, I was thinking about Denim Deb's descriptions...... The goats and chickens both would not come out of their houses (ducks don't seem to care). I shoveled paths through the goat pen and now the babies are being so cute, boinging around on them and butting their baby heads. I guess their disbudding areas are not too painful! They are eating adult food now too I see.

I scooped out the entire chicken run which is quite large and it took a half hour at least while Hubby played computer games and made paths to the coop so we could reach it tomorrow and unburied the coop itself so I could collect the eggs. The chickens came out and were quite pleased when I threw out their scratch. So I come inside, shake off the snow and get myself a cup of java (with goats milk!) to relax, and Hubby looks out the window and says to me, "Look how great those chickens clear out their own run, stamping it down?" :he

The girl bunnies are still giving me dirty looks but the boy buns asked me this morning for a cigarette. :bun

I love speaking in emoticon :D
Sorry to hear about your snow. I'll commiserate with you once our backyard lake starts forming tomorrow.

So after all my fussing about the goat milk taste - go figure, it's fine now  I'm a dork. And it's fabulous in coffee. I may be able to stop buying cream because this milk is sooo thick! It leaves a coating on the jar. Now I just have to convince everyone else that they will like it, even if I have to put it in an old milk jug from the store.
