Ewwww! Diavo, you sure make it sound inviting. :sick

Seriously, though, I've read that in some places it's considered quite a delicacy. Kinda like haggis. You really don't want to know what's in it -- just enjoy it.

in Hawaii, Spam is an artform. i mean, they make all kinds of amazing things with it.

i'm just imagining the day after the world goes to crap. i don't see anyone walking into a pantry full of peanut butter and Spam and thinking "ye god, we are saved!" i see them walking into that pantry and saying "crap... we should have thought this through a little better." i mean, really, when you could have a pantry full of canned veggies and homemade soups and tomato sauce, why in the world would you stock up on peanut butter and Spam?

And until then, she's got 61 cans of chili, 20 cans of Spam, 24 jars of peanut butter, and much more stocked in her pantry.
just go ahead and put a bullet in my head if the worst comes to pass and all there is to eat is chili, spam and peanut butter....
Obviously you haven't been tracking the prepping progress of Ldychef! If I have to be in a holocaust let me be visiting her house at the time! Nothing like gourmet survival food!

By the way I also like good old SPAM! :hide

I used to like Spam. I haven't actually had any for years. Maybe I need to get a can and see if I still like it... :p

Valmom the hickory flavor is good. Don't care for the turkey myself. One year my daughter got me a case of it for Christmas, after eliciting from me the promise that I wouldn't make her eat it.

My favorite way is to grate it, mix with Best Foods mayo and sweet pickles, on a sandwich roll. Them's good eats....

I send a peeeeshaw to those who critique the delicacy that is Spam. I especially scoff at those who so denigrate my penchant while at the same time eating liver, which filters poisons, kidneys, which excrete urine, or tongue, which I shall now hold....

I scoff because nutritionally that stuff is garbage.

When you add the hickory smoke flavor, that probably makes it carcinogenic, too.

For the record, I don't eat any internal organs, either.

Isn't this why we can our own food??? Who would want comercially processed canned foods???? Especially meats,... BTW,...as far as internal organs go,..chicken livers are so delicious! Fried and ranch dressing to dip them in,....mmmmmm! That's as far as I will go.

I'd have to agree. I find it rather absurd to create a survival shelter if you're going to stock it with food that's going to kill you. :ep
