I herded the 2 month olds over into the silkie pens a few days ago. Integration went well.

I don't even like silkies and still think your birds are so very beautiful! And that dog...even more so! LOVE the pic.

I know a lot of people who don't like them. My husband doesn't even care for their looks. They pose so well though.


I lucked out on dogs. They are very good chicken protectors. Only way they have hurt a bird was accidently stepping on one while wrestling each other. Of course if the chickens didn't walk under moving dogs that wouldn't happen. Yes I can and have locked them in a chicken pen for a few hours when I needed them out of the way. Only casualty was them eating the chicken food.

They are like the Pomeranians of the chicken world! All fuzzy fluff that makes you want to pet them, but you really can't see a chicken under there.
