Always doing laundry
I thought this would be a good thing to do....I have a couple of things that I do that make holidays a little easier and thought I would share. I know we all do things a little differently and maybe this would be a good way to share ideas.
Tip #1---put your strings of lights on those bright orange extension cord rollers. You can get these anywhere. Use one for each different area that you use lights. I have one cord keeper for the house lights, one for the tree lights, one for the fence lights (right side) and one for the fence lights (left side). I label each one and keep all of them in a rubbermaid container and each year I know where everything goes and no tangled lights!
Tip #2--- use a roll of butcher paper and stamps to let your children make their own wrapping paper. This is a great rainy or snowy day project and the kids just love using the stamps!
Tip #3---color code your childrens presents. Wrap each child's presents in a different color and that way you don't have to do labels or tags. Each child knows automatically which presents are theirs. Santa's presents either don't get wrapped at all or get their own color scheme too!
Tip #4---if you have children that love to play dress up hit the thrift stores right after halloween and around christmas time to get fancy costumes and dresses for next to nothing! Our local Salvation Army has one day of the week when all clothing is 50% off. It's a great way to let your kids be creative without breaking the bank, I even got a fancy $20 sleeping beauty princess dress for $2.
Okay, so here are some of mine, now share yours! Happy holidays everyone!!!
