Yep - Amazing how different things are in different parts of the country.

Back when all the shortages started I talked to my DIL who worked for Walmart at the time. She told me to shop in the mornings because they stock the shelves overnight. When what was on the shelf was gone they didn't stock it again until that night for the next day. It was their way of 'rationing' their stocks. Have no idea if that is still going on anywhere. It doesn't really effect me because I'm always well stocked - even more so now.

DH and I decided a long time ago that we're not going to panic. There are a whole lot of things that we can live without. Toilet paper and pop tarts are not necessities in my life, lol. They sure are nice...well the toilet paper is convenient, but we don't eat pop tarts anyway. Flexibility and substitutions can carry you a long way.

I don't have a magic ball and I have no dates as to when this will end, but I'd really be annoyed, and surprised, if it lasted 10 years.

@Rammy do you feel like you're stocked enough to be ok for awhile?

I keep thinking I have all this time, realistically though I have about 120 days…

I’m going to order some formula and diapers now, and probably swaddles. I want to be prepared for the worst.

Pick up lanolin ointment and breastmilk storage bags. See if you can get an SNS right away. You will find you need it in the middle of the night, not some convenient time when you have time and energy to track one down. Cloth diaper paper liners are a nice convenience but you won't need them until babies are on solid foods about 6 months old. You'll want 2 packs of newborn disposable diapers because meconium is really hard to wash out.

Do you have sewing skills? Momma cloth are much, much nicer than disposable options.

Lanolin is interesting, I was just going to use Bag Balm. I’ve ordered about 200 breast milk bags. I’m going to try my hardest to solely breastfeed until a year old. Newborn diapers, got it.
As for sewing skills, I can use a machine like a whizz but I can’t hand stitch.

So the reports say that with port backups, if items haven't left China or India by now, they won't be here for Christmas. The wait at US ports for unloading is killer.

This was known to be coming months ago to anyone paying random attention to shipping. I convinced Mom to get her Christmas shopping done early and she finished beginning of this month.

In country shipped items are taking longer to arrive as well. I've had stuff shipped UPS and USPS. Even Amazon's own delivery is taking longer.

I usually have Christmas gifts wrapped by Thanksgiving. I did it in September this year.

I'm curious what Black Friday will look like this year. I dislike Black Friday and would like it to fade away.

Cyber Monday week will probably be awful this year and back up USPS/UPS/FEDEX. If your buy staples online, better buy early so you don't need to restock in late November or early December!
