Not laughable--here on my three acres, a truck is a necessity. from hauling garbage and water, getting feed at the feed store, hauling hay, and pulling a horse trailer, it is a definite necessity. We got by with our jeep for two years, pulling a utility trailer behind it, or the water trailer, but having a truck sure makes life easier.
Good luck on trying to get the price down.

While I can creatively cram more in a hatchback that seems physically possible, and even though I am in the burbs, I REALLY miss having a truck. Hubby did get an old Jeep Cherokee just recently so that helps a bit, but I miss having a 4x4.

I will fess up, I drive the truck in our family. I will not let my hubby take the truck he drives the car :D With 10 acres you will find it a necessity not a luxury with all the stuff you will need to haul and accumulate.
I :love having my own and not having to beg, borrow and ummm go without.

Congratulations!!! I am hoping that some day if I ever get a new or new to me car, it will be a truck. Seems like life would be so much easier.

2001 Ford Ranger ext cab, etc. here. It is not as good on gas as the previous 1990 Ranger, but a good vehicle.
Good for you! Hope you can negotiate that down- it is a buyer's market, especially this time of year. I know a few that have been trying to sell without success, of course one is a convertible, lol.

well test drove it and like it but dont love it

i have 3 kids and those flip down seats just dont seem big enough for a kid 12+ years

however its got a nice body still, he just replaced the entire a/c system the battery is only a year old the tires have 1/4 of the life used and the truck is lifted so i guess its considered an off road

just that 146k miles is scary on an 8 yr vehicle maybe its just the shock value from my car only being 6 years old with a whopping 65k miles

i sent him an offer of 3650 cause i want to get the truck for 3800 keep your fingers crossed for me

Pah! I live in a little town and we still NEED a truck! We have the Baja and a Toyota Tundra 4x4, but we're trading the Tundra in on a Nissan Titan 4dr 4x4. Like I said, we need a full size 4x4 truck, but, we also need the extra space in the back for the kids, lol.

Anyways, good luck with getting a good deal!

Hey, this fall I bought a 1980 Ford 4x4 (yeah, the 4x4 works fine).......for $200

4 speed on the floor.

It's in rough shape, but who cares? For what I use it for, it is fine.

Heck, even if I just use it to teach the kids how to drive a stick shift....for $200 it is worth it!
