I drive a 3/4 ton, 4x4 extended cab with 8ft bed Dodge Ram with over 160,000 miles on it. I don't know how I would ever survive if I had to go back to a car. Just yesterday, our back up freezer went on the blitz and we had to replace it. It was FULL of beef, so there was no time to wait for a delivery truck to show up. I ran into town, bought the first upright freezer I could find, loaded it up and brought it home. I had the new freezer plugged in and warmed up, all the meat transferred into it and was in the house having a glass of wine in less than an hour and a half. :hide Thank GOD it was only 15 degrees outside here yesterday!! That and a little luck is the only thing that saved our keisters!!!

CHECK YOUR FREEZERS FROM TIME TO TIME!!

DH first came to me (30 years ago) with a truck. Since then, we've ALWAYS owned one. First was a crew cab, 1984 Full-Ton Dodge Ram. Next was a 1993, 3/4 ton, Cummins Diesel, Club Cab--still own it--it's my "Duck Truck." (ONLY 110,000 miles!!!)
Finally, we bought a Full-Ton, Cummins Diesel, doolie, 4-wheel drive, Crew Cab. It pulls/hauls like the wind!!!
Oldest DD would really like a small truck, maybe a Toyota Tacoma.

All 3 daughters have borrowed our trucks on occasion. They love to come to an intersection, and watch the little cars wait for THEM!

Trucks are the best!! You never have to borrow somebody else's when you want to haul ANYTHING! You can hitch up any kind of trailer to them. They're built BETTER than a sedan, and that helps a lot if somebody hits you from the side. Heck, we're on our 3rd year of Satellite radio, too.
Hint: Look for maybe a 2008 or 2007, with a bare minimum of miles on it, for a really good price. Ours was one year old, with 500 miles, and the price was $10K less than brand new. Happy hunting--we want PICS when you're done!!!
