I have to ask, how do you read and answer posts here? Fancy Cell Phone? You claim not to have time to sit by your computer all day yet you managed to post 7 times yesterday in this thread alone.... I was going to suggest that the blue plastic tarps work well for for moving bales over snow or sand if you pull them [pushibg does not work]

all the blue tarps i've ever bought (new) have torn when used often. not very dependable. just saying.

somepeople bounce from project to chore to computer to chore to running kids somewhere to computer to ... you get the drift. nobody wants to keep hitting "refresh" for every moment of wakefulness to see if someone has responded to an e-mail. at least, i wouldn't.

even tho my computer has been up since 9 and i've posted a few times, i've answered a lot of e-mails and phone calls and then sold a flock of chickens, took down a CL ad, did basic chores, started a load of laundry, did some training for my kid's seizure dog, discussed with my kid his seizure that he had in the middle of the night, did a load of dishes, talked with homeschool consultants, researched kansas inheritance tax laws, and even more than i'm just not in the mood to type about right now.

i will admit to being an email only type of gal...part of that is i dont want random strangers having my number, the other part is i have a very odd but very real pobia about talking on the phone...
BUT
i am always quick to respond to emails and it realy frustrates me when you end up waiting for responces that never come, or people realy dont read your initial contact email ect. so i 100% see where your comming from.

I rarely check my email, so any buying and selling done by me is strictly via phone. I think if I lived where crime was worse, I might be more aware of all the peripheral no-no's of stranger contacts but out here folks come right to your door to buy what you are selling...and vice versa.

I wouldn't even deal with anyone who communicated strictly via email as it seems more sneaky to me, not to mention highly inconvenient to my particular style of living.

GD, you're out of the loop. Right now, I have more time to be on the computer because I'm recovering from knee surgery. I'm not allowed to do the majority of the stuff I normally do. I cannot do much else right now but sit back and do nothing, and it's driving me nuts! Normally, I'm on in the morning and at night. And, when I'm really busy, I'm lucky to get on at all.

I've been trying to set something up since Friday. It took her until Sunday to respond to my 1st e-mail. If she doesn't get back to me, I'm not going to try anymore. I can understand about not wanting to give out your phone number, but when you have someone who WANTS to buy something, I would think you'd try a bit harder to respond quicker.
sounds to me as though she has more buyers than she has items to sell so she feels she can be selective. FWIW, I'd say "drop it" and let her call you or look somewhere else.
That is why I never use CL or any of those things. They are more hassle than they are worth.
YMMV
O and KEEP that knee elevated!

YEP OUT OF THE LOOP FOR SURE, I just lurk, and read the titles that catch my eye, Good luck with your knee. The tarps I was talking about have ripstop tape about every half inch. It might be glass fiber or some other strong material.

Thanks. I'm slowly but surely getting better. I started physical torture today, so that's a good thing.
