I've heard about these - course if they want to get in bad enough they don't even need a key.

With this if they lock the door back up behind them then it does
not even look like a break in or a robbery because there is no damage to the door. I wonder if your insurance would pay on that complaint?

Any door that doesn't have a bolt lock (if you are just locking the door handle) can be gotten into very easily with a simple credit card...I have done it a million times to show my friends and family how easliy thier house can be accessed with absolutely no damage or evidence, right through the front door.

Morel your showing your dark side. :hide

The bump key will work on a dead bolt, and you can learn how to make one on the internet. That's not good. :rant

Locks just keep honest people out!
They probably help to a degree. We don't lock anything. We even leave the keys in the vehicles.

Bumping is nice, but a cheap pick set and a little practice will get you past most of the better "bumpless" locks also.

Being in a rural area with no neighbors, we seldom bother locking our doors. Our front door is 90% glass and it would be all too easy for someone just to pick up one of the gazillion or so rocks and gain entry through the door or a window.

Instead, we have four dogs ranging from 65 to 105 lbs. They are VERY unfriendly to anyone that they don't know when we aren't around. We even had this tested once, when we gave a key to a friend that was going to pick up something that we had forgotten to bring to a group picnic.

However, there are ways around the dogs. The thing to remember is that if someone wants it bad enough, it's gone. All you can hope to do is to make it take more effort than they are willing to put into it.
