We have a bunch of used cooking oil (corn oil) around the house. I'm wondering if I can make soap out of it? Have any of you done it? Got a recipe? How did it turn out?

If its filtered good afterwords don't see why not? Would be similar to lard or bacon fat I'd assume and plenty of folks use that once they've cooked with it. Probably would want to run your recipe through a lye calculator though and go from there

Agree with others, might want an added smellys, lard has a 'porky' and bacony smell from experience but not sure if corn oil would smell corny or like what was cooked in it or nothing lol

Sure, I saw a video on Facebook where they made candle out of bacon fat. They just added some cinnamon powder to neutralize the odd odor. Then again, a house that smells like bacon would be great... or not. LOL
