Thanks for the welcome. I would love to talk soap with anybody. I would not call myself an expert because I think because we learn with every batch we do. I actually just started this past year with goatsmilk. IT's actually a little hard to find around here, I have used other milks, suchas fresh cows, buttermilk ect. As soon as I can find my digital I will post some pics of my current soaps. This week I will be soaping like crazy, to get ready for some fairs in october and november.

OK, soapmaker, I have a question for you:

Have you ever used dried, crushed lemon peel in soap? I'm trying to scrounge up my own ingredients. I was thinking of putting it in a lemongrass & sage scented soap.

I don't know about the lemon peel, Punkin, but I make a sage soap. Smells nice and herby and anti-fungal at the same time! Great for acne and rashes.

I actually never tried the dried lemon. I have done a crushed orange peel with vanilla. I don't see why you couldn't though. I think the smell would be heavenly if you added either fresh lemon juice or better yet lemon oil if you have on hand. Yankee candle has a sage and lemongrass that smells devine so I would give it a try. The best place for natural herbs if you don't have available is www.texasnaturalsupply.com I get alot of my herbs, clays from them and they have a sale going on thorugh sept 9th I believe.

Thanks, when this dries I may give it a try. I have a recipe for Orange Spice Soap. I have to eat a few oranges first for that one.

I had an mri of my knee done today. I've been off work for almost three weeks from my horse throwing me. She went one way, I went the other. They first said rest, ice, elevation. I said how about an mri this was almost 3 weeks ago! Now they are saying possible dislocation, or ligament tear and by the way you need an mri! I actually never had an mri before, dang those things are loud. I've been walking with crutches since but still trying to make my soap. We have craft fairs october through december and I really need to get busy if I am going to be ready.
