Well I got the sorghum chopped and leaves off finally today , saved the heads to make flour .
Now the hand cranking juice making starts then to boil it and finally maybe a pint .
Any others out there do the sorghum hobby farm thing .

I've looked into it but don't feel capable of actually getting it done. I've seen some very nice sorghum presses, but it's so much physical labor.

I'm going to try a little grain sorghum next year. Mostly just for the chickens as the silkies like it. For them I don't even have to remove it from the heads.

Good production from minimal land...especially for birds! I don't use enough flour for the time to grind. But nice to know you can -- in case.
