I was wondering if because of all the gmo in general if popcorn is become more trendy to grind than field corn...for the reason that it may may may not be as modified as other commonly and readily available corns on the market

anyone know?

I saw your post on the mill. Makes you wonder. My health food store only had "pop corn" in bulk. So that's what I have bought, stored and previously ground. :idunno

I'm not really sure if that's the reason, but I can tell you that popcorn grinds great and makes a good cornbread. We kept several pounds out, from our last bulk food order, to pop and tried some ground. It was great.

Organic popcorn is about $7.50 cheaper for a 50# bag than the organic corn that we usually order. Next time we're going with popcorn.

Some grinders manufacturers specifically advise against grinding popcorn in their machines. This is because popcorn is considerably harder than regular field corn. Be sure to check your grinder's instructions for popcorn compatibility.

I know that my grinder will grind any common seed except popcorn. It is the Family Grain Mill.
