Mine is pretty boring too..

Wolf was my main screenname and then when I registered for BYC, it was taken, so I just added on my first name.

I like it too. It reminds me a fun night we had on BYC hijacking avatars.

Awwww! Sweet story!

Everyone here has about 5 different nick names. The crazy St.-turned-LGD started out as Kate (as in Kate Moss b/c she was skin and bones when we got her). She quickly turned into "Katie Cuckoo" b/c she was nuts, that turned into "Kookie Mookie" (we have a "Mookie" too.) then just Mooks. It has evolved again and we now just call her McGee. No wonder she is cuckoo!

My dd is Samantha or Sam or Sambo or Mambo Sue, or Mantha-Mau, or Mammy. She answers to all. :p
That's so funny!
We had a dog named Sheena, a rescue. We didn't name her and weren't fond of it. One evening we were watching the "making copies" guy on Saturday Night Live who called everyone by a nickname. We started calling her Sheena Meister, which ended up as Meisty and that is what stuck.

I wasn't planning to participate in this thread .. what would be the point? ORChick - I live in Oregon, I am female, and I have chickens  But now we're talking pet names! We had a kitten some years ago that we named Julia - nice enough name, but it never really seemed to suit. One day DH and I were watching Disney's Winnie the Pooh on television. -- Short aside ... I love Winnie the Pooh, but the original, the book with Shepherd's illustrations. Not Disney. And DH is German, and grew up with other icons of childhood. So this was the first time either of us had watched this particular show. So anyway, we got to the bit with heffalumps and woozels, and DH asked "What's a woozel?". At that very moment a small Siamese kitten leaped in front of the TV, seemingly from nowhere, and I said "That's a Woozel!" And so she was, for the rest of her life

When my D2 was little and we were making jelly she decided that I was a heffalump and SHE was a woozel. For years she make jelly labels that reflected that.

My dads family always had nick names for everyone. My sis was Gooseberry for years and my dad was/ still is Peanut.

Now that we are talking goofy niknames, I got a houseful!

Daddy is DooDa, then we have Koos/Kissie Face, Jo Bunny/Jo Buns, Adai, Faithy Cakes/Cakey....we have gone thru many different versions thru the years but these are the basics that we mostly stick to.

Old user name the metal peddler - As a Coppersmith, I use to push a cart around Williamsburg VA in time period clothes selling stuff I made from copper, some stuff I didn't make I sold for the city. I became known as the metal peddler and so the name stuck. I was not paid, rather made money from the stuff I sold, so I was a true peddler.

Current user name Modern_Pioneer - Todays world, and Pioneer is a tribute to my mom who was a true pioneer even in the 1970s.

Okay, here's one for you.....a guy that my dad works with is named Ensign (in-sin) has a brother named Vensign (vin-sin) another brother named Dugan (doo-gun) and a sister named, and yes it is on her birth certificate, Sparkles.

BB, I can't believe no one can pronounce Merle, who hasn't heard of Merle Haggard???

Dace, my DH's grandmother's name is Dot but everyone calls her nanny.

MY great grandmother's given name was Nanny.

OFG, I had a great uncle Dood too!!! He used to love to crumble up cornbread into a tall glass of buttermilk and eat it with a spoon!

I am very glad I was not the only one mispronouncing Dace's name :p And what is really so hard about Merle? It's a nice name.

Mine is simple of course, this was my first year raising chickens and I am a lady.

Hehe, DD's nickname Booger, comes from her intense desire to devour them when she was a little bit. She thoroughly enjoyed them, as in like candy :sick What is it with kids?
