I like butternut baked like a sweet potato with butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. It's got a lot more water in it but, tasty.

How are the baked potato ones??? Orange? Dry? Sweet or? Never tried those. Name suggests not sweet.

Not sure yet. Just picked them before we ran to town yesterday.

NH, good to see you posting again. Do you have any sheep or goats now?
I do! 2 Goats (pets) and… 9 sheep currently but butchering a few before winter. I have shetland sheep, will be breeding maybe 3 this year (maybe 4, haven’t decided yet). Still have a few AGH but our boar had to be put down (he was 12!) so we’re not breeding currently. Maybe will again in the future, maybe not!

I didn't realize that carving pumpkins were so much lighter than eating squash. Had one twice the size of my largest sweat meat that weight the same amount.

Actual frost advisory for tonight. Everything got picked and covered. They say 32° but with how its been going Im expecting mid to low 20°s.

When elk attack.

It's underdeveloped and the cold had killed the vines. The deer and elk have been eating the left over corn stalks now that the squash leaves aren't there as a deterrent. Also nibbling on any left over squash.
