Try calling sheriff depts in all communities around.
Last winter a neighbor was on vacation out west with a friend tending the farm. The young son was playing with the Jack Russell Terriers and left the kennel door open. The female left the property, got on a busy road and was rescued by a man living 3 towns away. He notified his sheriff dept because, I am assume, they had no dog warden.
When the neighbors came home, they were frantic and began calling everywhere. Two weeks later that town's sheriff dept acknowledged a report when contacted and they got their dog back.
The fellow said he wanted to keep her because she was so adorable.
He came home around 2 pm today, keeping his 2 day adventures completey to himself.
If dogs could only talk........
When we stopped by Becca's earlier we had no clue he had come home, and E pointed and siad, "Look!" as we came up the drive, and there was Mickey! Safe and sound, although a bit calmer than we last saw him.
