Lovin' The Homestead
Up here in Maine we are having a very unusual warm and mild winter. 30 and 40s mostly. No snow at all too. So, with the gas prices at 3.65 I decided to get my bike out and tune it up. With gas at 3.65 for sure it will be 4.00 by April/May. So I figure start getting ready now. This weekend I started to bike all over the island. A little cold but after a bit I was feeling good and warm. My family and I have sat and talked about a lot of what ifs and we have decided to bike all that we can. The only time we plan on using the truck is for work and off island adventures. Even the off island adventures I will try and barter something to cut the cost of gas down.
I know a lot of locals hate seeing bicylest on the road but I'm sure after this summer a few more people will wake up and see that things won't be going back to the old days. I'm usually pretty good at seeing things ahead of the curve. Probably because of my survival up bringing, but I feel a big tighting the belt again. I am pretty well off in live too. No bills and my childs future is covered unless we collapse of course but still I prepare and plan for the worse. Not that we don't enjoy our PRESENT days of course.
I just feel there is a calm before a big storm coming. Just a share. Thank you for reading my ramble.
