Yup, plastic canning lid for kefir and yogurts. Cloth dish towel for kombucha.

You might try an experiment with cows milk and the same grains and see if it does make a difference compared to the goat milk.

I never tried making kefir with goat milk, I was afraid it would get "goatie" tasting in the process.

I use cream and half and half in my kefir. I LOVE Lifeway Kefir, and that is the only way I can get mine to be like the Lifeway brand.
