After.. say 11 years, the farm was paid off Sunday. :D

Not that I had anything to do with it, but that's success!
Actually that one is huge! Take it from someone who has experienced losing their home last year.....there is a lot of security in owning your property!! :thumbsup

My 16 yr old came home from school, pulled out a cutting board and an assortment of veggies... sliced them all up and asked "mom, how many servings of veggies is this?" :love so proud!
Oh my goodness! That would bring me to tears! Tears of rapturous joy and adoration :D

My success story: Learned how to make soap! Whoo, hoo!
Awww, thanks. Silly the things that make our hearts swell up :love

Congrats on the soap....It is at the top of my to-do list but no $$$ to play with right now...so I wait....patiently....

My biggest recent success was a few months ago... I moved from a big city newspaper working midnight shift (which I did for 4 years), to a country newspaper in our dream town to live in, working DAYS... for the first time in years I don't feel like a walking zombie with 3 hours of sleep.

I made 6 pints of dill beans, the first thing I've ever canned in my life.

I baked a loaf of bread yesterday, also first ever (that didn't turn out like a brick)... I made Rosemary Foccacia so we could stop paying $4.50 a loaf for it at the market :)

Yea! to everyone! :celebrate I love this forum and how supportive it is for all of us!

My success- I also made soap! My first batch was 4 weeks old when my in-laws visited this past weekend and I gave some away. And they liked it!

I started cleaning out our paper files and throwing out ancient catalogs that "I might buy from someday". Unfortunately, I have to empty the file drawers, throw out, reorganize and put back in and I only got up to the empty out/throw away part before my in-laws visited. So everything (minus the throw aways) got dumped right back in the drawer. Oh, well, it is started, and for a major procrastinator like me, that is something.

I used MY soap for the first time this morning in my shower :)

I realized we are running out of the gallon of yogurt before the week is up, which means we are actually eating it!

The deer have not come near my winter planted raised beds. Although I might lose them with the 10* :ep that is supposed to happen tomorrow. Mulch, plastic & prayer.
