Barred, I get the feeling you are worried about what is happening in the world. Do you want to talk about it? There is comfort to be found in the scriptures, if needed, and of course, I will pray for you!

I've just got to tell you a story that happened Friday night at the local football game and was later announced on the radio as a story session that a local preacher does each day.

Our county was playing their lifelong rivals, third quarter and our team was getting their patooties kicked all over the field....we were losing, in other words. We had the ball on the 5 yard line and during the play one of their team got hurt.

Our bleachers were silent, no one spoke as everyone waited. Then the trainers signaled the ambulance to come on the field as this young boy writhed in pain and both sets of fans were still silent and waiting. No cheers or announcements, no signs of disrespect from our team as one of the rival's best players was driven off the field.

Then, both teams moved towards the Wildcat emblem at the middle of the field for a giant huddle....and prayed together for the fallen team member.

These are not Christian/private schools but public, small town high schools that apparently still remember what prayer is for and doesn't mind showing this to the world. The boy was released from the hospital later on that evening and is doing fine, by all reports.

Ah, the power of prayer and the power of an astounding God working in a small town. Gotta love it! :love

Out here in the country we don't really place a lot of importance on politically correct behavior, as we believe in a higher power than the government. People need to put their faith in action, display it every chance they get.

I love it that I live in a place that hasn't forgotten who controls this world and takes steps to immediately appeal to the Lord for help in stressful situations.

I remember watching the TV at work on 9/11 and feeling like my rib cage had shrunk a few sizes~I couldn't breathe, couldn't stop crying. When I got home I called a lady from our church and asked if we were going to have a service that night and she said she didn't know....I told her that OF COURSE we are and to let everyone know because I was heading for the church. When I got there, the parking lot was full!
