I've done it, but is usually hard to get her reabsorbed into the flock. She will get pecked more when she returns....

Your best bet would be to try it at night, but BB is right, sometimes it only gets worse.

any way to cage her in the coop temporarily so they can get to know each other again and THEN let her out one night? That always works best.

I had one picked on relentlessly, is wasn't until I brought in the next generation and a hen got lower in the pecking order did it stop.

The pen she is in shares a common wall. In the first pic, the far left end is her pen. The second pic is looking through her pen into the main run. So they see each other all the time.

Another problem is that they rarely roost in the coop. Most nights they roost right out in the run and with all the ambient light from the "Old Man's" house and the moon, it's not really dark. Oh well, I'll give it a try and hope for the best.

If you have a few days... try bringing another hen or two into the area where she is. This will make her head hen there. Let them have a few days then return the group to the run.
