I ordered Holy Cows and Hog Heaven from Amazon a couple of days ago. I hate waiting!! I have a Kindle and have gotten so spoiled with wanting a book, and then having it in my hands 30 seconds later. Salatin's books are not available on Kindle -- so I exercise patience.

I had never heard of him before I watched Food, Inc. He sounds like quite an amazing guy!

Just a couple of years ago I could hardly find anything on YouTube, now there are tons of great clips of him and of his farm...I could watch for hours!

BBH, my small town library doesn't carry any of his books, but they were able to get it for me through interlibrary loan.
A wise librarian at our library ordered all of his books.

Oh, wait. That would be me.

I picked that book up from the sharing table at my CSA last year. It was my first introduction to Joel Salatin.

Pastured Poultry was the only book of his that I couldn't get through...too dry. Not his normal witty, ascerbic approach to agriculture! I actually LIKE his preachy, my way or the highway attitude! :D

And I couldn't put it down! It was the right book at the right time, I guess. It pushed me to finally try the meat bird thing. Very practical.

I enjoy his other books, just not as much.

Very wise indeed :old
My only gripe about my library is the hours. I have to get DH to get books for me, since they don't have an online request center & they close the same time I get off work. Oh how I cherish those random days off :D

I think I'm going to get You Can Farm& Chicken Tractor next.
