Hemp should be legal, no matter what they do about "pot laws". Hemp would not work for party purposes, because it doesn't have the THC needed to get anybody high.
But it's fibers make high quality paper, cloth, and rope. It is fast growing and would save many whole forests if used as a primary source for paper. That would protect our environment.
The seeds are very nutritious and are sold as a high protein snack food and used to make protein shakes. Hemp oil is a great source of the healthy fats.

Hemp oil has a omega6 to omega 3 ratio that isn't that bad. Topically is can be a little drying though.

Ok. Thanks you guys. I have a recipe book that calls for it in the form of protein and oil, I just wanted to see how "safe" it is.

I drank hemp milk when I was doing a tw week dairy free trial. It wasn't awful. I still use it for baking for DS.
We have a clothing company in town that makes cloth from it and then makes (very hippyish) clothing from it. I watch a demo at the farmers' market last year. Fascinating!

Remember it is still a seed and will likely have the same phytate issues as other seeds....I really have no clue as to how high they are in hemp, though. So hemp milk could potentially block absorption of certain nutrients like other seed products do. Use in moderation!

I would also want to know what chemicals are used in producing the products, too, unless fully organic. Too many "healthy" things get ruined once they are popularized and the bigger companies get involved.....sigh....Can you get the seeds and process them yourself? Like crispy nuts, soak, dry, grind or proceed for each recipe or use?

Good points free. I have absolutely no idea about hemp-anything, except for a couple of blouses in my closet that I got from "The Whole Earth Provision Co." :p

All I know is we have a lot of hemp down here, because everyone, with a medical card, can "grow" a certain amount. Its mainly grown inside, because of the other part that you use, so you don't see pesticides or huge amount of chemicals. Your "steroid" to pump the plant would be high amounts of UV light, not chemicals. "Clones", on a small level, are just natural modifications any one of us can do, not GMO. I can't speak for major hemp products, however, because I assume their only motive is hemp itself. Makes amazing dog products (Planet Dog!)

Anymore questions? My SO and his friend are seriously into the, uh, hemp plant...

Just called friend mentioned above, male plants dont grow the bud (or have THC? I didn't clarify) that is illegal, however he is unsure whether its even still hemp then, or if its useful hemp.
