Ya know FC, I used to feel cheated by our short warm weather season until I read your day. Now I know my outdoor work is nearly done for the year due to inclement weather.

Today I had to pull my car onto the lawn to make room for a delivery truck to back in. My car got stuck leaving two big ruts in the lawn. More work that I hadn't planned on.

I stacked a cord of firewood.
My chainsaw died and I had to buy another one today. I will be cutting more firewood before dark.
I canned the last of the beets so canning is done for the year.
I cleaned the coop and put down the first thick layer for the deep litter method. I'm heading back out there now to put leaves in the muddy pen.

All this after work today. Boy, am I gonna sleep good tonight!

So why are you all babbling on this forum. GET TO WORK. When I got kicked off BYC I started getting a lot more done. I don't know how to use the smileys. Just imagine me under a chair avoiding rotten eggs being thrown at me

HA HA HA

I read these "to do" lists of everyones and I cringe......WE ALL ARE working like dogs..HA HA

just moody today. some days the overwork and no time get on my last nerve.

but the little friend is gone (thank you Nanny for picking her up a tad earlier!) and that chaos is over.

Little doe died. No idea. She was off feed for 2 days, I doctored on her and just found her in the pasture croaked. Oh well...she wasn't one of my favs so I don't feel horrible, but I hate when I lose animals.

Good thing is everyone is strong and healthy ---as of this minute---LOL---so I think all should be good for now.

SNOW
SNOW

did I read possible SNOW

wow---I am so far from that still...LOL---but it hit 80 here today and even with that wind and the drapes closed the house is HOT!!!! Thinking about AC but can't bring myself to put it on..HA HA

Tony is taking the goat to the other pasture to bury it and now I have to get outside and finish all the stuff on the line.....bye for now.....

oh big daddy----we only get on the puter in between chores..LOL
but yea--without a little puter distraction life would be boring..HAHA

Too much to do. :th

I was thinking this weekend that I should just give up. Then it wouldn't drive me crazy that I havn't been able to do any in depth house cleaning for 5 months now. With every passing week I seem to be hanging by a thinner mental thread.

The weather has been weird . . . so while I should be getting ready for winter, I am still doing lots of summer chores. :barnie Enough with summer already!

My fall crops are not happy at all. I keep thinking I will get time to set some of them in the greenhouse, but the greenhouse is still getting hotter than I would like during the day. I can't seem to get an overcast day to transplant on. Meanwhile the daylight is getting shorter. . . .

I have canned some apple chutney finally. But there are a few more apples and I feel obligated to can them too.

Well it's fixin to get dark here. My ds and dd came home from school earlier and we worked on redoing the goat pen. It was more of a chore than I thought, but I will be glad to get them moved. If it doesn't rain tomorrow I am going to shovel out the coop and put new leaves in now that we have some on the ground. I aslo found some Texas A&M quail for sale that I thought about getting. $25 for 100 eggs or $1 per day-old or $4 per grown. I think I might go with the eggs. That means I need to prepare the beat up old bator. It is full of rat holes from when I left it in the loft and needs special attention now but works better than it did before. Oh and I also preg checked the rabbits. I am starting to think my bucks are infertile! if I don't get some little uns soon we will be having a rabbit fry!

Yes, you don't know how much it kills me listening to you all talk about 80's and sun and warmth.. It gets 50-60 here during the day and 30 at the warmest during the night. Rain, sloppy wet, mud, cold, cold, cold.
No sun here.

We still had snow in April, not ready for any more.

We did get the first three things on the list done though.
