:/ I'm always doing something wrong. Sorry
Oh, no, it's just impulse, it just makes our jobs a bit more difficult when we're cleaning up after those messy spammers ;)
:hugs Don't feel bad! I responded to your response so we were both in it.

I really like the idea of the five finger shoes since it's just not practical to go barefoot around here. First of all, it's really wet, and second, it's usually cold enough that I have to at least wear socks all the time. For quite a few months of the year, rain boots are the practical choice. But I wish five finger shoes didn't have little toes. I tried those toe socks, and not being able to feel my toes against each other just freaks me out! I'm shuddering just remembering. It's like a phobia or something. I really like wearing ballet shoes, though. The thin leather ones are nice.

My favourite shoes are whichever ones have my orthotics in them. Seriously, while I understand in theory the barefoot thing, , between my heep spurs, bunions, fallen arches, weak ankles and arthritis,--if I'm barefoot for 5 minutes, I'm in pain.

I just got new orthotics. $500. #$350 covered by dh's plan, and my last ones lasted 6 years. Worth every penny, or I would not be able to walk.

Love 'em but ow! Can't wear 'em. I have fond memories of middle school in the 70s when it was cool to buy two pairs in different colors with a friend and wear one of each color.
mtn, my podiatrist and my naturopath have differing view points. The pod has me in otc orthotics which help some. She okayed my Crocs. I have no clue what she'd say about the 5 toes.
Henny, I totally get it! I hated toe socks in the 70s!! I have a pair of yoga socks with toes that my yoga teaching friend gave me and I can tolerate them. They're fairly thin. I will have to try on 5 toes before buying because I may have the same reaction as you.

My pod nixed the crocs--said there is not enough support around the top of the arch. ( and I agree as I have major pain there), but I still wear them in the house ( for the cushion factor)

The vibrams aren't for everyone. People with bad feet long enough ago just would have been eaten by a lion, so it wasn't a question  My friend Katie must wear orthodics though, or she would quite literally be lame. (I tell her she's lame whether she wears orthodics or not. It usually gets me the finger). But especially if your feet are aged and used to what they have done, it would take a lot, if possible at all, for them to strengthen enough to be able to be barefoot.

Emily, have you been drinking tonight?
I wish. I have been drinking coffee and taking exams. I think the problem is that I NEED a drink, not that I've had any.
