Very interesting! Do you add more soil to the cage as the potatoes grow out, to keep them covered..?

You don't need soil. I normally add old hay, straw, leaves, etc.

A cloche is like a mini greenhouse, also once called a bell jar. These days we make them from a recycled soda 2 liter soda bottle with the top removed and the bottom cut off. ;)

Oh, I didn't know they had a name. Thanks. When I was a kid my mom always had mayonnaise and pickle jars by the dozens ready for springtime.
