This is what I woke up to this morning.
001-9.jpg

Found this hen on her eggs about a week ago, checked yesterday afternoon and no one was hatching, but today a grand total of 13 eggs (all the eggs that were under her) hatched.
Put them in the shed with the other two mommas and their babies.

Awwwwwwwww! BB, you ought to submit that as the pic of the week on BYC. I, too, am jealous....what a great hatch rate and such healthy chicks! :)

I posted the other day saying that I wouldn't be on BYC anymore but the mods removed it. So no, sorry.

Our biggest hatch was a German Spitzhubaun (I'm actually been to the mountain in Germany) who hatched all 16 eggs under her. Out of all them only one died, the rest lived to adult hood.

Yes Kel, I'm thinking two aren't from eggs she layed, the one with the copper head actually has feathered feet. I'm hoping the daddy of most will be one of our Brahma roos.

I might have to get some more pictures that show all the babies, one chick is hiding behind her.

Wifezilla - I have no idea - I'm hoping that the rooster that provided the sperm, for lack of better words, is a Light Brahma (we have 10+ of them running around until butcher). that is what I meant to say, sorry for the confusion. I do know that when Barred rocks are chicks they have white dots on the head like that, so it will be fun to see what they end up like.
