NO GAS! The tank is empty, and it's 3 days before the gas company can come out and refill it. 3 days of no clothes dryer (meh - not huge), 3 days of no stove/oven (gonna get really good at cooking in the microwave), and most importantly - 3 days of NO HOT WATER! Let's see, if I boil 4 cups of water in the microwave at a time, I MIGHT have enough for a 1" bath in an hour or so?

Or I could pretend I'm camping, and build a fire in the yard....

No back up cooking device Camp stove, propane burner BBQ? I know the sell those tiny little single burners that fit on the green cans rather cheap. Maybe you have a friend with a Colman stove you can borrow?

I think it's doable but I would rather have a wood stove at least. You could heat water, cook pot of food etc...

Yes, k is right. Consider this a training camp of sorts

We had a power outage of 2 weeks. Boy I learned a lot during that stretch. A flash food knocked out a major supply tower. It was a very valuable experience.

And yes, the camping gear did play a big role.

we snuck right under the wire - the heatin oil guy came yesterday just ahead of this snow-pocalypse

whew!

dont forget that you can use your gas or charcoal grill to cook! (outside of course)

hopefully you can have a good laugh but that is a bummer. stay warm!
