I'm hoping we're done w/the frost as well. Right now, it's raining and I'm glad it's not snow!

Well i have to say i am a big DUMBY! :th i put out all my new seedlings about 2 weeks ago. i only planted half in case it frosted overnight. but i left out the trays of seedlings too. so presto! all my plants are dead!!:barnie on top of that i found out that my home grown grow closet had two things against it. first he ballast in the light fixture was the wrong type it had been replaced with an ultra efficient ballast so the light was weak, second was that it didn't have adequate air flow so it stayed too dry in there. lessons learned. so i ended up going to a local place to pick up plants all in all 100 bucks to replace everything i had started. 35 was to replace my Cherokee purple and yellow pear tomatoes that where shipped from florida. i had to order them because its not a common tomatoe here in CT, i went through the the cook's garden (they drop ship from Burpee) and since they only carried the tomatoes i wanted in certified organic....... $35 for six plants 6" tall. plus shipping. but mostly its my falt :somad . well here are some updated pics

So sorry you lost all those plants. I love, love, love Cherokee Purple tomatoes and hope mine do well this year. Your pics look great - hopefully your luck will be better for the rest of the season!

I don't know what I was thinking when I set them out so early. I forgot I was up north. Thanks for the good wishes! And I may your garden be free of pests & full of life!

Sorry you lost everything. We had a freaky frost here not too long ago. I had to go out and cover up all my plants.

As of today garden is doing good, I picked up some corn, early tomatoes, zucchini, greens, eggs and cukes. Spent the morning breaking down the greens and vacuum sealed them, dried some lemon thyme, and lemon balm. DM & DYS are flying in in 40 mins, looking forward to the visit. I'll post pics of the garden later. Oh! Before I forget, the friend we get our produce from asked if Bubbles and I could help out at his farm stand :woot it will be a couple hours a day for Bubbles and hit or miss for me. But it pays in veggies and eggs!

Hi, whingnut. Good to read your posts and see your pics. Seems like things are going nicely for you.

Any chance you could post some pics of some more of your metal-working projects? I know you're professional and quite skilled in that dept.

Happy summer.

Sorry Joel_BC,
No recent metal work. I will as I do so, but I haven't had the time. Hopefully I'll be able to finish my solar power station this summer. I'll post pics of it. Mostly been teaching and trying to finish my Master Trainer Specialist qual. Not a lot of "playtime".

Your front and back yard photos look great! I think that is a great deal on helping out at the veggie stand!
