Old truck, just a seat belt, and the soreness isn't from the seat belt, but it might be from the steering wheel as I started to spin. The direction my coffee spilled would also be the direction my body was pulled, and in a counterclockwise spin, that accounts for the soreness. Cracked rib, at least one I think. Probably a hairline fracture though, and they just take time to heal. I'll get an x-ray after my daughter brings the truck. I am listed as a patient at one doctor's office that has an x-ray machine.

I don't have medical insurance - needed to wait til the claim number came in before going to a doctor - I can't afford the bills. I pay extra for medical coverage on my auto insurance for just this reason. I get hurt a lot, I heal well. Going to the tub now.

Well,

Another day, a little progress. My daughter brought her truck out, instead of renting a vehicle I'll put a little work in on hers, and a couple of used tires promptly. Still haven't had an x-ray on the rib, do have an appointment for in the morning. I need to know if it is broken before I do anything to make matters worse... Gave both batches of chickens a little yard time this afternoon. I spent the morning on the phone with my insurance company filing reports of the accident and getting all the details handled...

First impact was actually passenger side, the car the semi hit clipped the front corner of the passenger side and set me spinning. I have no idea what hit the drivers side front or the back, but the highway was crowded.

Ouch! Glad you're at least mobile, even though I'm sure you're sore and shook up. I'd give you a hug, but I might hurt your rib.

Well we have the trucking company name. I have not hired a lawyer. It was Knight Trucking. I have Allstate insurance, including uninsured motorist and medical protection. I do not have a broken rib, just pulled muscles the floating lower ribs attach to. I am a veteran of the Tilt-a-Whirl - today I consider that a plus, I just braced, braked and held on.

I do not have a lawyer. I figure Allstate has a lot of them. I just expect to get taken for a ride anytime I have to deal with a corporate entity. I am trying to stay positive. My adult hens aren't laying. My pullets aren't old enough to lay. So I had to buy eggs. I am a bit depressed. I have my grandkids here, have had them since Wednesday evening, but I do not have my normal level of oomph! (energy)

The Allstate inspector is supposed to come and look at my truck in about 2 minutes. My right arm is going to sleep. I need a massage, muscle tightness between my shoulder blades pinches nerves and activates carpal tunnel syndrome. Couldn't get a massage til after xrays, didn't want a broken rib to let the air out of my lung or anything. So glad it's not broken! And my bones looked good. I changed occupations at 40 to get out of officework and get exercise, put calcium back INTO my bones, before osteoporosis really hit. So far, so good, no hollow fragile bones visible...

Life is good. I am grumpy, I'll get over it.
