The plan of attack:
1. Scrape off existing gravel
2. Reduce the steepness of the slope, address the erosion rut
3. Make it slightly sloped from center to sides
4. French drains on both sides
5. Put down a mat
6. Finally, put down the new gravel.
A lot more expensive than spreading a dump truck load of aggregate, but I like doing things right the first time
