This tiny house is occupied by a couple and their cats. This piece of property came with a shack that could have been ... who knows what. A storage shed? Whatever it was, it was uninhabitable. It was nothing close to air tight.

Here is a rundown of where $362 comes from:

$10 - front door
$60 - fabric to hold in wool insulation
$120 - 400 pounds of wool in roof and door (it's nine inches thick in the middle of the poofy part)
$27 - three straw bales for wall insulation (clay/soil was free)
$60 - wood (the rest was milled on site from trees we've fallen or salvaged from the site's existing buildings or the cabin itself)
$85 - large window, the rest were free

It goes to show "home is where the heart is"!! Looks like they had everything they needed.

So what was the rock for?

I've seen a couple of tiny house clips lately. Makes my "cottage" at my parent's place seen absolutely luxurious with 3 separate rooms!

Speaking of which- where was the bathroom for that house?

Great for young folks. Us olders note conspicuous absence of some essential services in the loft...particularly at night...O my!
Can't stand up in there...and climbing down that ladder in the middle of the night provides some serious terror for older men!
But, it is a cute little cottage. Guess I'd want a Murphy bed on one wall...

If my youngest and husband keep driving me crazy, I threatened to remodel the shed and move out there...

tiny homes always hold a fascination with me....I love little out buildings and shed, barns, etc.

but this one was rough...lol

my camper (which cost way more :p) though would be a better living situation than that small home (for me at least)

very cool tho how some people sure can be content in something so basic. neat video.

Very cool. I could totally live in something that size... without hubby of course! :D Love the wood stove.

We lived in a 33 ft travel trailer with baby while our house was being built. You do tend to spend a lot of time outdoors. I tell my dh all the time we could totally live in our 38ft toy hauler. heck it even has a garage. :gig

Same here. In fact, if I didn't have saddles and horse feed in my tack shed, I could live in that if I needed to. And, it would have a small wood stove in it. (It's 8' x 12')
