I have a 5 gallon food grade bucket I cleaned out yesterday and left out side to dry.. it originally had pickles in it from a BQ place.. I purchased big maylar bags for buckets last month and oxyegen obsorbers.
I want to transfer my sugar that I have in the cabinet into it.. Do I need to seal the maylar since it is going in 5 gallon bucket and how do I do it.. I think I have at least 40 lbs.
I will put a gamma seal lid on the bucket

Ms. Pirtykitty yes you will need to seal the Mylar Bag. Some folks use an electric curling iron to seal the bags, other folks use a piece of wood and then use a regular iron, set on low to seal the bag.

You will also need to put O2 absorber inside the bag before sealing. A lot of folks will put bay leaves in the bucket to discourage the creepy crawlers from getting inside the buckets.
