I was in the car in Chatham, so I didn't notice anything. My dad, who lives in Wallaceburg, was in his garage. He didn't "feel" it, but he noticed his saw blades (that were hanging on a pegboard wall), swinging.

edited for spelling--normally I don't, but I said 'lived' instead of 'lives'--I didn't want anyone to think my dad died, lol

Hey Pat, hope you're braced down for the night, you and others in Ontario tonite...it's going to be a rough one. There are tornados touching down everywhere, lots of damage in certain areas. Hope you all are ok!

No sign of any storms here right now, but there are tornado warning flashing on the tv screen for some counties in Michigan. I'm sure we;ll have some storms tonight. Leamington, which is only 25 minutes away had a tornado two weeks ago.

That quake was felt down in Massachusetts, some buildings in Boston were evacuated (they're a bunch of ninnies in there!). I was in Jaffrey, NH and didn't notice a thing. What time did it happen?

Hey, "there's an app for that", if you happen to have one of the new fancy cell phones. It's called -- go figure -- EARTHQUAKE. It'll show you the latest earthquakes and their strengths on a map on your phone.

Yeah, Midland ON (about 45 min N of here as the crow flies) got whomped pretty good by a tornado yesterday evening... we could see the (big!) storms from here and were actually feeling *jealous* because we really really need the rain. We ended up with only 1/3", not nearly enough... but am just as glad we skipped the tornado thankyouverymuch. (Although if something wanted to demolish just our barn, in an insurance-covered kind of way, that would be ok...)

And you know, there are probably people in Midland who IN ADDITION to having an earthquake and a tornado on the same day, probably ALSO just according to the laws of chance had a car accident or got laid off or dumped by their significant other or whatever. Some days you just can't win.

There isn't any more "recent earthquake activity" around the world than normal, though.

(e.t.a. - Ann, you asked what time it happened, it was around 1:45 EDT, I don't know how long it would take for the vibrations to travel from Ottawa to Massachusetts)
