Thanks All.

I'll post a pic when the troll is done, I've been working on his body all day.
I might want to add hair but I'm not sure I'll have to try it and have the kids vote!

Can you explain to my DD how this is done?

Those are nice!!
There was another thread with the basic idea of what it is.

You basically take cleaned and dyed wool and felt it using a barbed needle. Its not recomended for kids under 12 or those that might stab their fingers, that needle is sharp and you have to continually poke at the wool with it.

You start by rolling a tight ball of the wool roving or batting, and poke it with that needle till its firm but squishy and can hold its shape. You then add more little bits of wool and felt it on till you get what you want out of it. The more you poke with the needle, the tighter, firmer, smaller the wool gets.
:D There are a good few video's on you tube, thats where I got my start, just watching the video's.

That troll is super cute?!?! :idunno LOL I may have to try to do this some time. I like learning new crafts and this one seems to be one of the easier ones to learn.

On a side note, I had a lady tell me to make sure to hand wash my ACRYLIC afghan I'm making so that it doesn't shrink or felt. :th I politely explained that acrylic yarns generally didn't do either of those and most were washer/dryer safe.
